At Home With Malo. Muse Alex Reed:
From becoming a new mum to baby Lola, to launching online store Child(ish) which curates some of the most sought-after pieces from international baby brands, we go At Home with Alex Reed (@_alexandrareed_) to talk motherhood, favourite mum finds and how baby Lola at 3months old is already one of the most stylish girls on the gram.
If you haven't checked out Alex or @child.ish.shop then you should! It's hard not to instantly fall in love with the special pieces carefully curated from around the world all in one stop. And we especially love to see Lola on our feed sporting the latest looks *die adorable*
You're a new mum to baby Lola. Congratulations! Is there a go-to baby product you have fallen in love with?
Alex: Thank you! Feeling very blessed that Lola chose me to be her Mum. We’re three months in & still learning what works & what doesn’t work! Right now, I would say our most used/loved product would be the BabyBjorn Baby Carrier. It’s been a god send for some of Lola’s day sleeps while I navigate juggling the worlds of motherhood and running child(ish).
Baby Lola is always so stylish. Where do you find her outfits?
Alex: Initially, I found most of her wardrobe pieces scrolling through Instagram. I was finding brands from around the world, and quickly became frustrated at having to source from multiple outlets & battle international shipping so from there child(ish) was born! An online destination for your littlest loves with pieces I’ve curated from brands that I love around the world.
Yes you’ve just launched Child(ish) Which Btw - we are obsessed with the pieces you house! What are some of your favourite picks?
Alex: Thank you so much! Oh goodness – its like choosing a favourite child haha! Some that come to mind: The Senger Naturwelt geese – absolutely adorable & they double as a heat pack so they’re perfect for Winter. Anything from Korean brand Monbebe! They have such beautiful pieces. Of course malo.’s Nappy Rash Spray and Crème – honestly a game changer for nappy changing. We’re obsessed! The activity rings from Konges Slojd The most divine knits, handmade in Portugal, from The Simple Folk Co – the little knit flares are divine.
Do you have a favourite soundtrack you listen to at the moment? Alex: When I’m not singing nursery rhymes (!), it would have to be Jorja Smith’s Lost & Found.
What’s your top 3 accounts you’re following at the moment?
@seeladanse – has you instantly transported to the Mediterranean (slightly torturous at the moment but the closest we’ll be getting for now!)
@wotbaby – such a great resource for new mums.
@lisadanielle__ - my go-to for mama, mini and homewares styling.
What’s a restaurant you can’t wait to dine at when lockdown lifts?
Alex: Our favourite neighbourhood Italian, Il Baretto. Delicious, affordable pastas run by a beautiful family.
If you had to choose – tulips or roses.
Alex: White tulips - A forever favourite!
