Malo. Style Maternity Wear:
Shopping for maternity clothes can be inundating, not only are we spoilt for choice but the options extend far beyond the muumuus and overalls of yesteryear.
Malo. founder Sonya shares her top fave go-to brands for fashionable clothes from non-maternity brands that serve up comfort and style for the whole 9 months of pregnancy.
For every day items that cater to your growing belly, I chose Pangaia as my daily uniform.
Who says maternity wear has to be strictly dowdy? I lived in my oversized sloppy-joes and incredibly soft track pants whilst looking chic in a pair of Stella McCartney x Adidas sneakers which were a god-send for my super-swollen feet.
The colour range is extensive and they have a beautiful neutral collection that I still wear to this day.
Beautiful basics, comfortable to be worn in and out of home without making you feel like you’ve left behind the old you and now you are settling into your mumsy, 90’s floral, given-up on style phase.
Leset has beautiful, cozy pieces that can be utilised even after you have given birth and truth be told, you wouldn’t want to give these pieces up, they are that good!
My style is elegant yet simple, I have a tendency to steal my husbands oversized Acne Studios shirts and pair them with timeless pieces.
When I was pregnant I adjusted my style, not so much the overall vibe but more the proportions and when I was in my second trimester I found myself reaching for anything oversized which made me look like a walking tent.
I found that balancing form fitting tops and chunky knits from Acne with their roomy relaxed fit jeans a great style combo.
Sartiorially, I love simplicity and comfort, if you couldn’t already tell… So Marni allowed me to stay true to my aesthetic without compromising my style throughout my pregnancy.
I gravitated towards their knit dresses and beautiful jackets that allowed me to be comfortable but also show off my bump.
Jewellery can be a nice touch to an outfit and Marni has some timeless pieces that work well when dressing up for a nice dinner with friends or zuzzing up a work outfit.
